Sunday 6th June Ref: 2021/1

After just a brief sea trial, our first sea trip of a season much-delayed by the coronavirus 19 lockdown. I had chosen a perfect day and time  to result in another textbook-planned cruise from Lowestoft to Southwold in calm seas arriving at slack water making for an easy landing and start to our stay. There was no Channel 12 response and so we first moored at the pontoon adjacent to the harbourmaster's office and then moved to the fixed stage and moored with two of the riding planks

In very light airs, with the following tide of 1 to 1.5kn and the sea state smooth and 'glass-like' early in the morning, we also had good visibility and warm temperatures and so the cruise went very well. With Lady Martina being static and without use, we had accumulated lots of weed fouling the hull and so our 1275rpm only achieved about 7kn through the water and thus 7.5 to 8.5kn over the ground

21-25 degC; RH 75→57%; 1024mb steady ; smooth seas with 6-8 knot breeze, variable; good visibility
