Easter
Sunday dawned clear but the easterly wind was still quite strong - plus
we had a football match in Norwich to consider. So we set a course inland
and headed upstream towards Norwich. An easy cruise gave David the opportunity
to rewire the GPS and troubleshoot the autopilot which had been giving
us trouble since we bought the boat. Although this meant veering precariously
close to the banks at time it did resolve one or two problems.
At
Brundall we took the chance to fill up with diesel - not at the advertised
price of 50p per litre which is for the benefit of hire boaters - but
at the slightly more reasonable rate of 37.8p. At least they were on hand
to help even though it was Easter Sunday.
We
opted to moor on the opposite side of the river at the Coldham Hall Tavern,
a popular riverside pub with boaters and landlubbers alike. Several boats
had thought to book ahead for the coveted alongside moorings but we found
a space in the stern on section. There is no water or shore power here,
but it is free for patrons of the pub!
